pmarsland Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Hi,We have recently upgraded from our 52 plate Galaxy to a 2008 SMAX Titanium 2.0 diesel and having problems with the towbar fitting company. They are fitting a witter towbar with the RightConnections dedicated SMAX 13 pin wiring kit but are having problems programming the car. They say the error is ' Apparantly the reverse sensor module and towbar module are both 'looking' for the rear lighting module but can't locate it, even though it is functioning correctly', the reverse sesor were working before they started but are now not working and their are no lights on the trailer light board tester except for brake lights which i understand are on a different system. They have tried it with a 7 pin dedicated kit and get the same problem, they are using the Autologic programming kit to program the CANbus. But neither Autologic or Right Connections have an answer.Does anyone have any ideas what needs to be done to fix it or has come across similar issues.Any help would be appreciated as they have had the car 3 days now.Paul Quote

pmarsland Posted March 21, 2012 Author Report Posted March 21, 2012 The car was taken by the towbar company to an autoelectrican who couldnt fix it and so they then took it today to a Ford Main Dealer who found it failing with the wiring kit connected and also disconnected with the reversing sensors also not working. They removed the wiring kit and reset the system and then the reverse sensors worked ok again. As soon as they reconnected the wiring kit the reverse sensors failed and no trailer lights again. They were then not sure if it was a faulty kit or the car. A second wiring loom kit was attached after is had been reset again and same problem. Their charges at this point were Quote
